The legal minimum is $25,000 for one person's injuries, $50,000 for all injuries in one crash, and $15,000 for property damage — written as 25/50/15.

If the other driver is at fault and carries only the minimum, their policy stops at those amounts. Uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage is what pays you beyond that.
